Yay! Finally the last day. This went by really quickly
What I liked about the program was the teachers and all the interesting topics they choice to work on/with. I also liked the projects. If I were to change anything about this I would incorporate more hands-on stuff (since I learn better doing something hands-on).
I really enjoyed having this with the kids that were here and the teachers that were here.

Today went by quicker than yesterday. Today I have to answer two questions relating to our math project.
1) The other things the restaurant owners need to consider when pricing their menu items would be the shipping costs on the ingredients to make the prepared food, the cost of the food, how much they are paying their employees, the cost of the rent (if they are paying any), the gas/electric bills, and the cost of renovations/keeping up with the restaurant.
2) A reasonable price for the tostadas would be around $4 or $5 dollars.
Yay! I’m so glad this is almost over. So that I can sleep more and I can hang out with people more now too.

What I’ve learned about writing open response is to have a good topic sentence. You also need to support your response and have at least 2 excerpts from the article. I also learned that you will be unable to write an open response while the janitors are blasting music. lol.
Today went by really quickly. The day started w/ a math lesson w/ unit rate then I went into the computer lab to start the project. Language was really good today. =D
Well now I’m going home! Adios!

Today went by really really quickly. The day started with me doing multiple choice questions with Ms. Hart. Then I went in the lab to play math games. Working on our new math project is really fun so far, we have to make “tostadas” with 5 different toppings, but we can only put 3 toppings on each of our tostadas (Using probabilities. I think that there are 20 combinations, but I’m probably wrong which is okay with me. So yeah, today is almost done! (Thankfully!)
I wish I was in CT right now. Saturday was amazing. Now there’s nothing to look forward to in life. But w/e

There are many different ways you use math in your everyday life. I use math when I’m working at the store. I am constantly pricing and re-pricing items, to do this I have to double the wholesale price and take 15% off of certain items. Also when you buy things you use math. Telling time is also using math! Math is all around us!!
Today was a good day though. I started the day with playing math games that would help inprove my skills. Then I went and worked on multiple choice problems with Mrs. Hallett – they were pretty easy and really helped me remember some skills I haven’t used in foreverr. Ms. Hart’s article that she chose today was really interesting – it was about chocolate chip cookies. It made me really hungry. =) But I’m glad this MCAS week is over! (yaayyyy!)

Today has been better than yesterday. I presented my powerpoint by myself today – I think I did okay..
Then I worked on Math w/ Mrs. Hallett. We did MCAS sample problems, they were fairly easy. After the break I went and read a piece about Dara Torres. It was interesting and I think I wrote a really good response. This week has literally flown by, I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday..and I can’t believe I am still sane at this point. lol

Wow! I can’t believe it’s Tuesday already. This week of MCAS enrichment is almost done!!! Today wasn’t all that great. The day started off with me and Jamie working on our geometry powerpoint and we finished within 15 min. I think it looks pretty good. During break I sat with Erin and had one of our usual insane conversations. Then I went to work on open response writing with Ms. Hart, it was pretty simple since I like writing and am a Language whiz. I like to read all kinds of things so it doesn’t really matter to me what I read/write about.
I feel horrible today, when I get home from work I think I may collapse on the couch and watch My Chemical Romance’s “The Black Parade is Dead!” (my new fav. concert DVD). Why can’t it be Saturday already!?

Today wasn’t all that bad. My day started with math – Mrs. Hallett went over our test results (mine weren’t all that great – which wasn’t a surprise) and then did a lesson with magic squares. We had to add up all the numbers in each row/column/diagonal and they should all come out the same. It was a medium difficulty but it helped me remember stuff I haven’t used since Feb. After that we had our break. Then I worked on my geometry project with Jamie. We took more pictures and started putting our powerpoint together.
Only 5 more days until the concert (which is pretty odd since today is the 5th day of the program. xD).

Since today is the 16th that means there’s only 10 more days until the Jonas Brothers concert!! (Finally!!!) =D
Day three has gone by fairly quickly. My day started out with a small Geometry lesson with Mrs. Hallett. It wasn’t all that difficult and it refreshed my memory as well. Then we had our break and I stayed in the library until everyone else came in. Now I am sitting here writing the latest post and next I’ll go and do language stuff with Ms. Hart. Then finally I will be able to go home – well not really since I have to go to the store until 4 today.

At this point, I can’t really say what has been easy or hard. But so far the easy things have been doing this blog and taking the ELA Survey (yay! Ms. Hart!). Waking up early (7:30!!!) and taking the Math Survey (ewww!!) have been very difficult. But all together the program is fairly easy. The Math portion may get harder since I do not like Math and have a difficult time remembering Math skills I have learned. English will definitely be the easiest thing I have to do for the next few weeks.
